USDA Announces Availability of Low-Interest Physical Loss Loans for Producers Affected by Natural Disasters

Physical loss loans through the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) can help producers repair or replace damaged or destroyed physical property essential to the success of the agricultural operation, including livestock losses. Examples of property commonly affected include essential farm buildings, fixtures to real estate, equipment, livestock, perennial crops, fruit and nut bearing trees, and harvested or stored crops and hay.

Impacted Area: Mississippi

Triggering Disaster: tornado, and high winds that occurred on March 15, 2025

Application Deadline: December 8, 2025

Primary Counties Eligible: 

  • Mississippi: Carroll, Clarke, Covington, Grenada, Issaquena, Jasper, Jefferson Davis, Marion, Montgomery, Newton, Pike, Smith, and Walthall

Contiguous Counties Also Eligible:

  • Alabama: Choctaw

  • Arkansas: Chicot

  • Louisiana: East Carroll, Tangipahoa, and Washington Parish

  • Mississippi: Amite, Attala, Calhoun. Choctaw, Forrest, Holmes, Jones, Kemper, Lamar, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Leake, Leflore, Lincoln, Neshoba, Pearl River, Rankin, Scott, Sharkey, Simpson, Tallahatchie, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Webster, Yalobusha, and Yazoo
