USDA Announces Availability of Low-Interest Physical Loss Loans for Producers Affected by Severe Storms, Tornadoes, Straight-line Winds and Flooding

Physical loss loans through the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) can help producers repair or replace damaged or destroyed physical property essential to the success of the agricultural operation, including livestock losses.  Examples of property commonly affected include essential farm buildings, fixtures to real estate, equipment, livestock, perennial crops, fruit and nut bearing trees, and harvested or stored crops and hay.

Presidential Major Disaster Notification:  M4819

Triggering Disaster: Severe Storms, Tornadoes, Straight-line Winds, and Flooding that occurred on July 13 through July 16, 2024

Application Deadline: May 20, 2025

Primary Counties Eligible: Cook, Fulton, Henry, St. Clair, Washington, Will and Winnebago Counties

Contiguous Counties Also Eligible: 
Illinois: Boone, Bureau, Clinton, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Jefferson, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Knox, Lake, McDonough, McHenry, Madison, Marion, Mason, Mercer, Monroe, Ogle, Peoria, Perry, Randolph, Rock Island, Schuyler, Stark, Stephenson, Tazewell, Warren and Whiteside Counties.
