A CLEAR Path to Conservation in Minnesota

USDA and Pheasants Forever to Hold Conservation Reserve Program Webinar on May 17

St. PAUL, Minn., May 6, 2022 – Do you own or operate farmland in Minnesota? Are you curious about how you can improve water quality, prevent soil erosion, and increase wildlife habitat on your farm? Are you looking for conservation solutions to address marginal or environmentally sensitive cropland? The Conservation Reserve Program may offer the solutions you are looking for on your farm.

To answer questions and provide more information on the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) in partnership with Minnesota Pheasants Forever are holding a virtual information session on May 17, 2022, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. (CDT).

USDA staff from FSA and the Natural Resources Conservation Service will be joined by public and private partners to provide information on current opportunities under CRP. Information will be provided on Continuous CRP enrollment including State Acres for Wildlife Enhancement also known as SAFE. Participants will also learn about specific CRP options that include the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) and the Clean Lakes, Estuaries, And Rivers initiative, called CLEAR30. 

Current landowners and producers that have utilized CRP on their farm will provide detailed examples of how they’ve benefited from the program.
