USDA Accepts More Than 1 Million Acres in Offers Through Conservation Reserve Program General Signup 

WASHINGTON, June 12, 2023 – Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced today the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is accepting more than 1 million acres in this year’s Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) General signup. This is one of several signups that USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) is holding for the program. The results for CRP General signup reflect the continued importance of CRP as a tool to help producers invest in the long-term health, sustainability, and profitability of their land and resources.

USDA’s Tree Assistance Program Deadlines

(BARRIGADA, Guam), June  13, 2023 — U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) County Executive Director Ilene Iriarte for Guam and CNMI counties, today highlighted that orchardists and nursery tree growers who experienced losses from Typhoon Mawar may apply for assistance through the Tree Assistance Program (TAP). Growers have until 90 calendar days after the disaster event or when the loss becomes apparent to submit an application with supporting documentation.

USDA Announces Dates for Conservation Reserve Program Grasslands Signups

COLUMBIA, SC., July 13, 2021 –– Agricultural producers and landowners in South Carolina can apply for the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) Grasslands signup from today until August 20. This year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) updated signup options to provide greater incentives for producers and increased the program’s conservation and climate benefits, including setting a minimum rental rate and identifying two national priority zones.

Farm Service Agency Now Accepting Nominations for Farmers and Ranchers to Serve on Local County Committees

WASHINGTON, June 15, 2023 -The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now accepting nominations for county committee members for elections that will occur later this year. Additionally, USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) is unveiling a new GIS tool to make it easier for producers to participate in the nomination and election processes for county committee members, who make important decisions on how federal farm programs are administered locally.

SYRACUSE, NEW YORK, July 19, 2021 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in New York is reminding producers and landowners that the signup deadline for the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) current general signup is fast approaching. Eligible producers must submit their offers by July 23, 2021.
