USDA to Begin Accepting Applications for Expanded Emergency Livestock Assistance Program to Help Dairy Producers Offset Milk Loss Due to H5N1

MADISON, Wisconsin, June 27, 2024 The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will begin accepting applications starting on Monday, July 1 through its updated Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees, and Farm-raised Fish Program (ELAP) to provide financial assistance to eligible dairy producers who incur milk losses due to Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, also known as H5N1infection in their dairy herds.

USDA Offers Disaster Assistance to New Mexico Farmers and Livestock Producers Impacted by Wildfires and Related Flooding

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., July 10, 2024 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has technical and financial assistance available to help farmers and livestock producers across New Mexico recover from recent wildfires and related heavy rain and flooding. Producers impacted by these natural disasters should contact their local USDA Service Center to report losses and learn more about program options available to assist in their recovery from crop, land, infrastructure and livestock losses and damages.
