Hawaii County Farm Service Agency is Accepting Emergency Conservation Program Applications

(HILO, Hawaii), September 13, 2021 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) Hawaii County Executive Director Keisan Tamura announced that Hawaii County is accepting applications for the Emergency Conservation Program (ECP) to address damages directly affected from the wildfire (disaster ID 1785) which occurred in the Waimea area on July 30, 2021. ECP signup will begin on September 13, 2021, and end on November 12, 2021.

The approved ECP practices under this authorization includes the following:

USDA Extends Deadline for Organic Dairy Marketing Assistance Until August 11

Reno, Nevada, July 21, 2023 –The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is extending the deadline for the new Organic Dairy Marketing Assistance Program (ODMAP) to August 11, 2023. This extension gives Nevada organic dairy producers more than two additional weeks to apply for the program. ODMAP helps producers mitigate market volatility, higher input and transportation costs, and unstable feed supply and prices that have created unique hardships in the organic dairy industry.

USDA Announces More Than 3.4 Million Acres Selected for General Signup Conservation Reserve Program

MONTGOMERY, Ala., March 26, 2020 – Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue today announced the acceptance of more than 3.4 million acres in the general Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) signup recently completed, the first general signup enrollments since 2016. County offices will begin notifying producers with accepted offers no later than April 3. 

USDA Designates 7 Massachusetts Counties Primary Natural Disaster Areas

This Secretarial natural disaster designation allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend much-needed emergency credit to producers recovering from natural disasters through emergency loans. Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts.

Friday Is the Last Day to Schedule an Appointment with Your FSA Office to Compete in CRP General Signup

February 25, 2020 – Agricultural producers and private landowners interested in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) 2020 general signup must make an offer of acres or schedule an appointment to do so with their local U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) service center by Friday, February 28.
