USDA Announces Grassland Conservation Reserve Program Signup for 2023

BOISE, Idaho, April 17, 2023 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that agricultural producers and private landowners can begin signing up for the Grassland Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) starting today and running through May 26, 2023. Among CRP enrollment opportunities, Grassland CRP is a unique working lands program, allowing producers and landowners to continue grazing and haying practices while conserving grasslands and promoting plant and animal biodiversity as well as healthier soil.  

USDA Announces Grants for Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production

HARRISBURG, PA, May 27, 2021 –The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the availability of up to $4 million for grants to support the development of urban agriculture and innovative production projects. USDA’s Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovation Production is accepting proposals for planning and innovation projects, and these grants are part of USDA’s broader efforts to support urban agriculture. 

Urban Producers in Los Angeles Metropolitan Area Must Submit Ballots by June 5 for Urban County Committee

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has started mailing ballots for the urban agricultural producers in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. Ballots must be submitted by June 5th, 2023, to elect members of their urban county committee, which helps deliver USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) programs.

Urban Producers, Public Invited to Attend April Meeting of Federal Advisory Committee for Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production

Physical loss loans can help producers repair or replace damaged or destroyed physical property essential to the success of the agricultural operation, including livestock losses. Examples of property commonly affected include essential farm buildings, fixtures to real estate, equipment, livestock, perennial crops, fruit and nut bearing trees and harvested or stored crops and hay.
